- 500 grams Strawberries Sliced
- 1/2 cup Sugar 100g
- 1 tbps Water
- 2 tsps Lemon juice
Rinse and remove stems from strawberries.
Slice strawberries and place into a sauce pan over medium-low heat.
Add sugar, water, and lemon and mix with the sliced strawberries.
Once strawberries have softened, after about 5-7 minutes, mash strawberries to break them down.
Stir occasionally until compote is reduced by about half.
Allow compote to cool and serve or place into an air tight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
